The mighty Dirtybird crew are the featured label on the Noice radio show this month. I thought I’d dig deeper into the dirty funk crate for the tracks on my mix.
For those who have been asleep under a rock, the Dirtybird DJs are also some of the funkiest producers on the planet – JPhlip, Justin Martin and his brother, Claude van Stroke and Worthy.
The label is doing for San Francisco what Hardkiss Music did during th ’90s – putting a freak flag on the map of international dance music and keeping a playful sense of humor about it.

I love it! The comparison to what Sunburn was doing in the mid to late ’90′s is spot on. I was getting nostalgic while listening to Namaquadisco some time ago..pining for someone to put the cherry on top of my need for messy, funky, and freaky beats. I cherished each Electric Manor mix as well as your mix on Shadow Records in 2000. It seems that these producers are carrying on in the Sunburn/Hardkiss tradition.
