I’ve been preparing some new edits of classics for upcoming events in Florida and North Carolina. It’s crazy to hear the difference in production standards from 20 years ago to now. I thought I’d put together a new version of ’3 Nudes in A Purple Garden’ but after messing around with it, I came up with an entirely new song.
’3 Nudes’ was the first song I ever made. Swear to God. I didn’t know I had it in me. I bought a Emax sampler and a sequencer and put together a rough version in the Hardkiss basement studion on 16th and Guerrero in San Francisco in 1992. Soon after, with some final production help from the UltraViolet boys, it became the third release on the Hardkiss label.
The song and it’s elegant remixes by Scott and Robbie were played worldwide and helped put me on the map as a producer. I wouldn’t be here today without the the fanfare surrounding that song.
Check it out here.
Below is the new version (or entirely new song) that I titled ’4 Nudes’ which will be playing this weekend in an earthquake zone near you.
